Ariel Marcelo Tavares Grilo (born June 19, 1977) is an Argentinean-Portuguese composer, arranger, and record producer currently based in Málaga, Spain; where he moved after living for 4 years in Dublin, Ireland. He is best known for his work with the electro-pop duo Shine, where he shared stages with artists like Alan Wilder (Depeche Mode) and the German band Camouflage.
Throughout his career, Ariel has also been involved with other alternative bands such as El Tercer Sol, Improvisto, El lado Oculto, MöD3 (a Depeche Mode Tribute), and @_Project. Since Shine dissolved in 2013, Ariel has focused on his solo career, which began in 1992 as Ariex.
As of January 2023, the project has evolved into Abnormal Landscapes, with a renewed focus on a new production concept. Ariel continues to create and produce music that pushes boundaries and challenges the status quo in the music industry.
